Quito Orphan Team Day 3 & 4

Day three allowed us the opportunity to visit some interesting sites including Mitad del Mundo (middle of the world) at the equator, Teleferico; lift up to the top of a volcano, an historical museum and touring the world renown  HCJB radio station.  Everyone enjoyed seeing these interesting places and learning about how God is working all over the world from the radio station tour.

On Friday we left the guest house early to travel to Tanguarin, a small pueblo about a 3 hour drive north of Quito.  When we first arrived we found just a hand full of kids there for VBS.  We separated the group and sent half of the team across the street to a day care center.  We were allowed to interact with the children with balloon animals, songs, coloring, a Bible skit, and passing out the stuffed animals.  The children's faces lit up with joy as we passed out the toys.

After a hour or so, we discovered that there was a day care center on the other side of town in an impoverished neighborhood that had lost their funding. This day care center had no toys, no refrigerator,  no cooking utensils, and almost nothing available to them for operating a facility properly.  One of the Christian workers at the center had been praying that morning that God would some how provide for their needs.  In an amazing way and in God's providence, he allowed us to visit this center and then be able to go to the nearest town to buy them many of these items including the refrigerator.   Needless to say, the workers were overwhelmed by the outpouring of much needed supplies and equipment.  It was indeed an unbelievable God moment.   Truly everyone there at the daycare center was blessed but I think we received the greater blessing by seeing God work through our lives. Oh and the name of the daycare center was called "Gotitas de Amor" "Little Drops of Love.  We praise God for allowing us to spread a few little drops of His love.
